Windows Update KB2756872 - Resolutions Offered Not Working

Hi there:

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, I'm also having issues with the Update KB2756872 (and also KB2769165, KB2770917).

I have a brand new Lenovo Ideapad Yoga 13, fresh install of Windows 8, just picked up yesterday.

I've attempted the fixes listed here:

Have Trend Micro Titanium newly installed, fully updated. Tried also disabling it to run the update, no joy.

Uninstalled audio and video drivers (tried each, then both together) and attempted the update, no joy.

Also tried to download and run the updates manually, all failed.

And last I tried the System Update Readiness Tool instructions for Windows 8 detailed here with no joy:

Can try cleaning out the update cache?

Not sure if there are any other fixes I can attempt here, but more than willing. Would really rather not have to go through a fresh Windows 8 install, as this laptop came with no install media and it would involve jumping through more hoops.
