My PC went berserk yesterday, and i lost the use of some programs from the desktop and the start menu.

When i try to open, it briefly tries to open in internet explorer and immediately jumps into a small center window

and acts as if it's downloading from the internet, and they all have this .ink at the end of the program name,

but nothing happens. For example the following four programs read:

File download - Security warning

Name: Trend Micro Titanium Security 2012.ink"

Type: Ink_auto_file, 1.02XB

File download - Security warning

Name: Yahoo! Messenger.ink

Type: Ink_auto_file, 802 Bytes

File download - Security warning

Name: HP Solutions Center.ink

Type: Ink_auto_file 1.06 KB

File download - Security warning

Name: Bearshare.ink

Type: Ink_auto_file 1.079 KB

Also lost my Microsoft trial version

when attempting to open from the start menu it also says:

File download - Security warning

Name:Microsoft Office.ink

Type: Ink_auto_file

I don't want to restore to factory settings.

Oh, btw- I can't use restore to an earlier date from the control panel.

It ttempt to restore, but then it says it cannot. From the system tools it says, Internet Exploerer [No Add-ons]

and

To top it off, four programs on the desktop have the white box with the internet explorer logo in them, over the program name.

So i'm stuck. HELPPPPPPPPPPP.
