Posted May 27, 201212 yr FPCH Admin Updating a computer (running Windows XP/SP3) which had not been used for a while, most (of many) fixes installed successfully., but KB2675157 does not (repeatedly). Running Windows Update, it downloads ok, then goes into 'Installing' for a time, before coming back installation failed. Subsequently the update shows as 'ready for installation' at system shutdown, and then after booting. Looking at windowsupdate.log I see "Install completed with 0x8007f00d" and later "WU client failed installing updates with error code 0x8024000b". Antivirus was AVG, now uninstalled and replaced by Norton Internet Security. Any ideas on how to get the fix to install? View this thread Off Topic Forum - Unlike the Rest
