Posted March 31, 201212 yr I'm trying to use MS Security Essentials on a Windows XP platform. I had previously removed the program, downloaded it again, but when I try to access it I get this message: "This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator." I had previously used PC Tools, but my subscription ran out and I want to use MS Security Essentials. I had removed the PC tools before downloading Security Essentials - I think they always interfered with MS Security Essentials anyway. What do I have to do to get Security Essentials operational?
