I now have duplicate inbox's after updating from Office 2007 to Office 2010

I had Office 2007 installed and I ran the upgrade of office 2010. I was under the impression it imported old user settings into Outlook. It did import, but apparently it duplicated my inbox's. I now have 2 inbox's for my Exchange Account and 2 inbox's for my pop3 account. I am needing to upgrade another user and do not want this to happen again. What can I do to ensure this doesn't happen.
