Posted February 28, 201212 yr I'm having terrible CPU spike issues with my USB sound card and KB981214 looks like it may be the answer. I've downloaded the correct patch and tried to install but always get the error - "The update is not applicable to your computer". Its definitely the right patch though. So - (1) is this already installed? It's not listed as installed but it is a 2010 patch - how can I tell if this has now been deployed through another fix or servcie pack? and (2) if it's still a stand alone fix, how can I get the damned thing to install?
