original title: Error 0x800710dd

What exactly does the error code 0x800710dd mean? What exactly causes MSE to issue this error code?

In my case MSE complains about a file that I have meanwhile excluded from scanning, and when I try to execute the only choice it gives me, "Quarantine", I get the error code.

For a test I have removed the file in question, but MSE still shows it on its to-do list and still throws the error.

This is erroneous or nonsensical behavior. MSE now complains about a nonexistent file. Is MSE really up to its task? This is the very first thing MSE did after I installed it, so the out-of-the-box experience is about as poor as it can be, and I am very close to uninstalling MSE again. In other words, unless you have a very clear answer and a very quick and clean solution, please do not waste anybody's time with an ineffective reply.
