It has and the answer came from yetigon on Oct 31, 2008! Rather than have to go through a lengthy disable of anti-virus and reload of ie8, my problem was exactly a faulty shortcut. His simple fix eliminated my problem and I wanted some way to let him know what a relief it was to find a simple answer!!!
