THIS IS RESOLVED. A CALL TO COMCAST TO RESET THE SYSTEM PASSWORD WAS THE ANSWER. WHEN MY WIFE'S ADDRESS BOOK WAS COMPROMISED, COMCAST SECURITY SHUT HER EMAIL DOWN.

I have Microsoft Windows XP Pro and use OE 6 for my mail. I have no problem with my mail delivery on my side but when my wife switches to her side, she can't send or receive mail. The following msgs appear:

First Message:

THERE WAS A PROBLEM LOGGING ONTO YOUR MAIL SERVER. YOUR PASSWORD WAS REJECTED. ACCOUNT: 'MAIL.COMCAST.NET', SERVER: 'MAIL.COMCAST.NET', PROTOCOL: POP3, SERVER RESPONSE: '-ERR INVALID USERNAME/PASSWORD', PORT 995, SECURE(SSL): YES, SERVER ERROR: 0X800CCC90, ERROR NUMBER:0X800CCC18

Second Message:

UNABLE TO LOGON TO THE SERVER USING SECURE PASSWORD AUTHENTICATION.

ACCOUNT: 'MAIL.COMCAST.NET', SERVER: 'MAIL.COMCAST.NET', PROTOCOL: POP3, SERVER RESPONSE: '-ERR INVALID COMMAND', PORT 995, SECURE(SSL): YES, SERVER ERROR: 0X800CCC90, ERROR NUMBER:0X800CCC92

My wife started getting all types of crazy messages and advertisements a couple of days ago. Messages were sent to different people from her address book that she did not send. I have changed her password but still can't get past the two above messages. Any thoughts?????
