Hi,

I'm using a Windows XP SP3 workstation.

When I want to resolve some machine name with nslookup, the system doesn't append the connection-specific DNS suffix.

We are in an Active Directory domain.

The Primary DNS suffix of my workstation is : fra.net.intra

The connection-specific DNS suffix is : fr.net.intra

In the DNS properties of the connection :

The "Append primary and connection specific DNS suffixes" is selected.

And the check box "Append parent suffixes of the primary DNS suffix" is also checked.

So, with this DNS configuration, my DNS Suffix Search List is :

fra.net.intra

fr.net.intra

net.intra

And each time I try a DNS lookup search, only fra.net.intra and net.intra are appended to the requested name and NOT fr.net.intra

After a few hours of research, I still can't understand why it behaves like that.

Have you an idea please ?

Thanks in advance.
