I tried the MS OneNote 2010 trial and thought the program was wonderful so I purchased OneNote 2010. It has been impossible to get it installed though. First I got errors in the installation. I reviewed the error codes in the logs and researched the codes. It appeared that I needed to uninstall the Office 2010 trial first. I uninstalled it per the KB & Fix-It and then tried to reinstall OneNote 2010. No luck. Then it appeared that maybe I needed to uninstall Office 2007 Home & Student (trial that came pre-installed on laptop) so I used the KB & Fix-It and uninstalled Office 2007. Tried to install OneNote 2010 again. Now all I get is OneNote 2010 has stopped working. I can't locate any error codes in the install log. I'm trying to track down why it won't work but am discouraged.

It seems as though OneNote 2010 should have been developed to "play well with others" especially when the others are its own siblings from Microsoft. The read me file at least should have given some guidance on installing this component with other Office components. I am at a loss and it is not the $80 that I lost on the purchase that is so bothersome as it is the lost chance to use a program that I thought would be wonderful.
