Adobe Reader alternative problems

I tried to use an alternate program to open or read pdf files because IE would not work properly with Adobe X. No luck. MS says it's not their problem but I don't agree.

This seems to be a problem in IE that's not exclusively Adobe. I started having problems when Adobe tried to update to version X. I have been using Nuance PDF Converter Pro for several years now and removed Adobe from my system completely to avoid clashes. I have no problem with any programs exept IE. When I know I have to download or read a .pdf file online, I have to go to the site with Chrome. IE will not allow any pdfs to be opened in or out of the browser. I upgraded to IE 9 to try and see if it would fix and there is no change. Chrome has no problem. I would switch to Chrome as my default, but there are sites I go to that don't like Chrome. Luckily, they do not have any critical pdfs.

Sure wish Microsoft would fix their software instead of blaming it on the other providers.
