Guest MattMay71 Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 Hello all, I have a friend with a faulty computer and I am helping out. The problem with the computer is that the hard drive is failing and needs replacing. I can access the information on the drive ok when I take it out of the machine, and connect it up to another machine via SATA to USB cable. So I can still access the files, I just can't boot from it. The customer tells me that they have Office 2010 installed on the machine, but there is no license key/product key sticker available anywhere. And because I am not booted up off this drive I can't run the standard keyfinder programs over this disk to search for licenses can I?? All it will find are any licenses on the host machine, and not the licenses on the disk now connected via USB?? Make sense? Or is there a product key finder utility that can look at the registry file of another disk? Hope this makes sense. Thanks, Matt Continue reading... Quote
