Posted February 5, 201213 yr So I recently purchased a new graphics card (the diamond radeon hd 6870) and found that I needed a new psu to go with it, so I got a 600w corsair builder series (the card only needs a 500). After replacing the psu it ran fine for a while, until I get a little ways into a game, then I get the "display driver stopped working" error. I've changed the registry to allow it 8 seconds but that didn't help. When I crank up my fan, it fixes the issue, but it's really loud. I find this very odd, as the card doesn't even go to 60c before it crashes. So right now I'm looking into an aftermarket cooling system for my card, but I was wondering if there are any other possible fixes? I have no idea where to go from here. any help is appreciated.
