Installation of Internet Explorer 9 caused it to stop working completely

I installed IE9 and after that all it would give me is "page cannot be displayed." I tried every fix I could find in this forum, and nothing helped. I am having to use another computer to ask this question.

I verified that I am on the wireless network, but the stupid program doesn't work correctly. I am currently attempting a system restore so I can get my PC back to its original state before the stupid update.

Any clues from anyone?
