The MSE window opens automatically every time I download anything. Can I stop this? 2nd Ask

I asked this question, and got a suggestion to un-install & reinstall. Which I have done -- and the issue persists:

The MSE window opens automatically every time I download anything. Can I stop this?

Why does the window always open? Can I stop it from opening? The open window has the "Scan Now" button--but I assume that, because of my settings, the scan of download occurs automatically, so I don't need to do anything--but close the window.

Am I missing something? Is there a way to stop the nuisance of the window always opening?

My settings: Vista Home Premium: 2 Internal SATA drives, 3 External drives

- Daily Quick scan, check for updates before scan.

- Default actions: All Recommended

- Real-time protection on--with the options to Scan all downloads, Monitor file and program activity,

Enable behavior monitoring, Enable Network Inspection

- Advanced: Scan removable drives, Create system restore, Allow all users to view results
