I have Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit and had spyware that hijacked my search engine for the longest time. Finally I hacked my registry and got rid of the worst traces of it, unfortunately I also apparently broke the feature that allows it to search and sort result from the address bar via my preferred search engine. Now it just kind of times out. I'm hoping to find a patch or repair kit that re-installs the default settings of IE 9.0 in my registry and let's me continue to use the 64 and 32 bit versions of my favorite browser. When i attempt an upgrade/install to 9.0 from the web, I get an error message saying that my current version is newer than the one I am attempting to install.
