I have been using Access 2003 for many years in a file share mode to share a data base for the employees of my wife's company. Recently the office was relocated and a new type of intranet was employed. The owner of the building set up the intranet using his equipment until such time as our T1 and VPN could be set up.

For the first time ever the data base user encountered an Action Failed alert while accessing and editing data. The alert indicated, or seemed to indicate, that the macro which loads the table malfunctioned. The table was in use at the time. My first thought was that a technician working in the IT room unplugged a cable, interrupting the data flow. When I moved my cursor to the file on the host computer the file was almost double.

I made a copy of the data base, deleted the original copy and copied it back in the folder where it worked for more than a week before this repeated.

I am at a loss for a solution and the articles on the internet offer no assistance.

All of our computers use xp pro and each has a copy of Access 2003. The db contains more that a dozen tables and only the one exhibits the mentioned alert.

It is a simple macro, opentable, data sheet, edit.

Any ideas, and/or suggestions?

Thanks Jim
