Posted January 30, 201213 yr Hi, I use IE 9 with socks in order to connect to a socks4 server (I use this because IE does not support socks5) The socks4 specifies that a socks4 client has the possibility/obligation(?) to indicate in the SOCKS4 request message a variable length userID field (after specifying at CONNECT version, command, dest port and dest ip fields) I didn't find that information (userId) when using IE 9. Is there a way that could make IE send userID information ? Maybe it could send the user information in case the user is logged on an active directory domain ? I see this as a way for the socks5 server to determine the identity of the requesting client/user. I mention that I saw other applications which support socks4 have the possibility to specify userID information. Continue reading...
