Posted January 29, 201213 yr I received a message from MSE indicating a severe threat that said it needed to remove. I clicked OK, and discovered afterward that it had REMOVED (not quarantined, as I was not aware that removal was the default option) my entire Thunderbird Inbox profile. I spent all day Friday trying to recover (downloaded and ran Recuva and Diskdigger) it but have had NO luck at all. I tried to recover the profile from my Carbonite account, but the only thing is downloaded is a file dated December 19, and that did not seem to do anything, not even give me back old e-mail up until that date. Is there any way at all to recover that profile, and why did it delete the entire profile to begin with? I've now set MSE to not scan my Thunderbird files at all and to quarantine rather than delete, but that does not help me now. Very annoying. Continue reading...
