I have an Intel DG31PR board with onboard audio. I have updated all drivers to the current available drivers. This is supported with Realtek High Definition Audio Codec ALC888, Driver version 5.10.0.5680, Direct X version DirectX 9.0. In Device manager I reflect no conflict and everything reports as functioning properly, however I do not have any sound. I can not seem to find any resolution to this issue. I have reviewed the KB888111 issue, yet when I attempt to uninstall this and follow the Intel instructions for this possible corrupt driver I receive the message that by removing this driver it will affect several programs that I have installed on my system. I had audio the first day for several minutes but ever since this time I am not able to get any sound from my system. I am perplexed as I find many threads concerning this problem yet cannot find any resolution to this issue. I have Windows XP Professional SP 3. I have visited both Intel and RealTek for resolution to this issue and have pretty much tried everything they recommend without success. How do I resolve this sound issue? Thanks.
