After using Microsoft security essentials for almost a year, the History tab is always empty

I've been using Microsoft Security Essentials for almost a year and there's never been anything listed in the "history" tab. I've set delete for 3 months, the longest period of time option available. I'm sure there should be SOMETHING in there. Can someone explain to me why this could be? I've never, ever gone for almost a year without having dozens of threats listed, almost on every scan.
