Cannot attach resumes to online job applications

I am unable to attach resumes to online job applications. I click on the "browse" option in the application, I find my resume and attach it (it fills the box in the application) but when I go to continue in the job application, my resume did not upload, the application tells me to upload my resume (again) and I cannot move forward from that field. I don't understand how this happens and I'm missing a LOT of employment opportunities because of it. I feel like it has to be a setting I'm missing, somewhere.
