Guest Western International Posted January 24, 2012 Posted January 24, 2012 After upgrading my Windows 7 x64 SP1 to IE 9, it started closing immediately after it was opened. It occurs on both the safe-mode and regular versions. The only version that will launch is x64. So far, I have done the following: Reinstalled Install both with Windows Update & Downloaded version Downloading from different location than the default Reset internet settings to defaults Ran sfc /scannow with no reported errors Toggled "Use software rendering" Tried running in Windows Safe-Mode Run as admin Tried running under different user Installed ALL Windows Updates The 1st result I got when I googled the issue was one from Microsoft, and it stated to: Run Internet Explorer troubleshooters Close all programs. Click Start, and then click Control Panel. Click Find and Fix Problems under System and Security. Click View All on the task pane on the left. Click Internet Explorer Performance. Click Next in the dialogue box. The troubleshooter will run and fix all identified issues automatically. Click Close. However, there isn't anything listed there for IE fixes. I even checked other machines on my domain and they too do not have anything listed for IE. I checked the group policy and local policy to see if checking online for troubleshooting was disabled.
