Users are connected via TS (RDP) or via domain / local workstation?

the best thing to do is to enable NETSEND or use 3d part apps like LANmessenger.

well I found the answer to my own question..lol And decided to reply to my

own Post incase anyone had an issue like mine. There are two policies that

deal with the text message that gets displayed when a user attempts to log on.

Under Computer Configuration|Windows Settings|Security Settings|Local Policies

|Security Options, look for these two policies: Interactive logon: Message text for

users attempting to log on Interactive logon: Message title for users attempting to

log on First, these two policies must be defined at the domain level, and BOTH must

be configured in order for the policies to work correctly. I was just using the

(Message text for users attempting to log on) and not the Message title for user

attempting to logon. Once I configured them both

it worked Perfectly.

Thanks ICTCITY for your quick reply

That's not a solution for me, first of all you must change policy everytime you plan to shutdown. Second, you must be sure that policies are applied in time, GPO aren't applied every minute, unless you type "gpupdate /force" on EACH CLIENT.

Then, if I log on in the morning and the shutdown is programmed for 6 PM, I'm quite sure I will forget this. Another problem, if a user stay logged on, the message is not displayed.

At this point, using the e-mail seems to be the best thing to do.

But this is just my opinion.
