Posted January 20, 201213 yr While playing around with SharePoint 2010 over the past week I noticed the occasional slowdown of what I thought was the SharePoint site while I was using IE9 9.0.8112.16421. However, I noticed that I did not experience the same issue browsing the same SharePoint sites while using FireFox 4.0.1. Upon further investigation…I found out through Task Manager that the instance of IE9 was using more than 1,400,000K of memory with a single open tab. Turns out the site was fine…but my entire PC was being starved of memory while using IE9 on a 4GB configured PC. I am running Windows 7 x64 and I noticed IE9 was running as an x86 process. IE9 is using hardware rendering as well. I can repeat this issue fairly easily…simply open a SharePoint site…refresh a few pages…and watch IE9 began sucking up more memory. Is this a known issue?
