Posted January 17, 201213 yr Do I have a virus that Microsoft Security Essentials isn't catching? If it's not a virus, then what is it & how do I get rid of it! Please help as my son, who is my IT, is in Afghanistan and won't be home until March. I need to get it off my computer before then! I am no longer able to use Outlook because every time I open it to even just check mail, Outlook sends out random spam emails to random people on my contact list. I ran a full scan on 1/1/2012 and again on 1/8/2012 and didn't get any detections in Outlook. I got 3 on the 1st & 2 on the 8th but they were all associated with Mozilla and I removed all of them. I opened Outlook for the 1st time since then Saturday and used it instead of getting my mail on my provider's online site (which is what I had been doing instead of using Outlook) and heard from 2 of my contacts today that they got spam mail from me.
