Posted January 16, 201213 yr I have two panel mount touch screen pc's from and OEM vendor. These were pre-installed with Window 7 Pro embedded. Windows authentication and Windows update could not connect to their severs. Internet Explorer was connecting internet with no problems. Cmd window "netsh winhttp show proxy" indicated a proxy server of "proxy.microsoft.com". I ran "netsh winhttp reset proxy" from a command window started with administrator rights. Now the "netsh winhttp show proxy" indicates "Direct access " Now the authentication works and update works. Just wanted to pass this on so maybe it could be included in the online help to save someone else a few hours of time. Thanks, Roy Continue reading...
