Guest dclaxon Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 I have an XP SP3 workstation that has stopped checking in with the WSUS server. (A little over a month ago, according to the WSUS console.) I have tried the command "wuauclt.exe /detectnow" several times, but it doesn't seem to do anything. The Windows Update service isn't showing in the Services list. It's not that it isn't running, it just isn't there on that machine, but the wuauclt.exe file is in the Sytem32 folder. I tried manually downloading and installing the latest automatic update agent, but the install failed, saying it didn't need to install because it already is. Is there a way I can repair or reregister the update agent and get the service running again, short of doing a full repair of Windows? Thanks, Dave Continue reading... Quote
