I need technical support for a product key issue

I cannot activate windows on a new PC. When I try, I get a box that reads like this:

Windows Activation

The product key you typed cannot be used to activate Windows on this computer.

 

Bringing up the error details shows this:

Code: 0x C004C008

Description: The activation server determined that the specified product key could not be used.

 

What do I do at this point? I'm reading directly off the product sticker. I have verified that the key I type is what is on the sticker.
