Guest idiot3qu3 Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 This issue has been bothering me for a while. Hopefully, someone knows what the solution might be because I've tried everything. Here is what I'm experiencing: At some point in our distant past, we had set all machines to use a pac file for IE. Years later, we deleted the pac file, and forgot about it. Since then, we moved everyone to Win 7. Now, it looks like these new machines are hitting the server where the old pac file was kept even though we never set up IE to use it. I've tried http://support.microsoft.com/kb/271361 disabling the auto proxy cache, and that seemed to eliminate some of the machines, but there are still a bunch that are trying. Anyone know what gives? And, since EnableProxyResultCache us a User setting, and it's not working for some machines, is there a machine-based way I can fix this problem? FWIW, we do have 'Automatically detect settings' checked, but this is checked for the machines that are no longer contacting the web server looking for the PAC. I appreciate the help.
