Does security essentials include a firewall? I have Vista home premium.

I have 64 days left on my Norton security 2011 and am thinking of using MS Security Essentials when the Norton term ends. The British Which magazine suggests that the MS free software is far better than the Norton product but only refers to a firewall as part of the Windows 7 OS. Can someone please advise.
