How to remove Illigitmate Software called Security Defender

My computer was recently infected with a illigimate ssoftware called Security Defender (I think this is the name that keeps popping up) I have ran a number of Full Safety Scans from Microsoft Security Essentials but no virus etc was detected but I know I have this virus. can someone please help?
