what does a tunneling teredo adapter on my network mean

We have a netgear router that has a history log of what is happening as far as possible intruders. There is a Microsot adapter teredo tunneling adapter that has an ip address and a port # and says incoming. I think that it is a user trying to get into our network to speak with one of us and my husband says that it is a defintion of a process and is not a user at all. This has stirred up the house to say the least , could you please set us straight? Thanks so much.
