why doesn't the latest version of MSE detect the trojan.fakeav virus?

I was infected by it, MS didn't see it. I had to use malwarebytes to find and remove it. Even when I scan the infected exe files directly it still doesn't see it as a virus. I just lost all confidence that essentials is doing anything.
