Guest MW Bronsdon Posted December 27, 2011 Posted December 27, 2011 Hi Folks: I'm sure someone in this forum will have a good suggestion for me. Here goes: 1. Running 32-bit Windows 7 Ultimate. MS Security Essentials. 2. Infected with some malware ("Win7 Antispyware 2012") and successfully removed and scanned OK with updated MSE profiles and MS antimalware scan. 3. Couldn't turn on Windows Firewall. Followed directions on post to reset services, and now OK. 4. Now in Action Center I get the message "Windows Security Center service is turned off." When prompted to turn it on, message is "The Windows Security Center service can't be started." No error code included. 5. Have tried to reset the service, but I cannot find any service listed as 'Security Center' or 'Windows Security Center' to turn-on. 6. Is it possible that malware removed this service from my system? How do replace this service, and/or where do I find it? Many thanks, Michael B Continue reading... Quote
