I upgraded to IE9, but was unable to get any of the 303 favorites to display using Favorites on the menu bar. All 303 favs are located in c:\users\\Favorites -- Vista Home Prem. I can see these easily with Win Explorer.

I then uninstalled IE9 which took me back to IE8, BUT now IE8 will not display any of the 303 favs.

What I tried on BOTH 9 and 8 are:

1) searched & read many of the threads posted here - but no success

2) reset IE to the defaults

3) looked in the registery under HKCU-..Shell Folder & HKCU-..UserShell Folder. These are set to c:\users\\favorites & %userprofile%\favorites which I believe are correct.

The obvious solution I expected was to import favorites, BUT the import wizard is designed to look for a file named bookmark.htm. Well, Favorites is NOT a file but a folder structure with numerous sub-folders plus individual URLs.

So, does anyone have any other ideas to get the 303 favs back? Clicik on each one and saving again is not prospect I want to consider.

TIA, Joe
