I have been fighting this thing for over a week with now 5 different spyware/virus programs...I believe it is part of the "xp antivirus 2012" exploit but I am not sure. I found the "ping.exe" eating system resources through task manager and when I shut it down, it just came back. I know enough about machines and networking to know ping.exe should not be running on it's own nor should it "return" after being shut down...that was clue number one...then I found the _ex-68 running from a temp folder...and nothing should be running from a temp folder. I deleted them manually and **** hit the fan. Blue screen. I used system retore and got my junk back up and running, but now I have no net access. I have ran scan after scan, found tons of viurses...then I used AVAST! and it's boot scan and found 17 boot sector viruses...after deleting them, all 5 programs now report clean,,,including microsoft security essentials. I am a little mad at you folks. I would think that you would like to be on top of things and keep your integrity of product but you guys missed almost all the problems...only catching spawned trojans and malware...it appears AVAst is the one that got the core...but not before it damaged my system or registry.... I need your help in restoring myinternet...whT hotkey or whatever might have been added to block my net...when I connect my ethernet cord toit,i get "acquiring ip address" and it never does...it just sits there...
