Posted December 22, 201113 yr Hi, I have been gradually replacing all our XP PCs and the new ones run Windows 7. I've already replaced about 30 and not had this problem before. When I replace the PC I either remove the old one form the domain and set the IP DHCP, then assign the old name and IP to the new PC. This has worked fine until now. The new PC in question lets me add it to the domain as usual but when I try to log in after the restart it gives me the error: "The security database on the server does not have a computer account for this workstation trust relationship." I have searched around and it seems like a lot of people have got this error but none of the fixes work for me. I have tried removing it from the domain (added to workgroup) restarted then re-added to the domain. I have also tried the same but deleting the AD computer account and making sure it was gone from all DCs and deleting any DNS entries, then re-adding it but still get the same error. I have also tried changing the FDDN to the short name. If I rename the machine to anything else it will work, so there must be something somewhere in our network stopping that particular machine name from working. Any other possible solutions would be greatly appreiciated. Or if anyone can tell me how to completely remove all traces of that PC name from the network since I'm fairly sure that would fix it. Thanks, Simon Continue reading...
