Guest Frow Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 Having a rough time with a machine running Windows Server 2003 and removing Internet Explorer 8. When I go to Add/Remove programs it will only show up if "Show Updates" is checked and then does not have an Add/Remove option. Then if I try the alternative uninstall option of running the command it will fail because there isn't even an "ie" directory in the Windows folder. Just to see if it would work I attempted to install Internet Explorer 8 on top of itself to see if it would then allow me to remove it, a long shot but I've seen it work before. However as soon as I attempt to install it I get the message "To install a new version (one that still cannot be removed), click OK. To stop the installation, click Cancel."
