Nothing happens when I try to open Microsoft Security Essentials

I have a brand new computer with Windows 7 on it. My last computer had no problems with MSE. Now, when I try to open it, nothing happens. I tried to re-install the program but it says it's already on my computer. No error messages. Just nothing happens.
