Posted December 19, 201113 yr I have installed each of these operating systems and they all have the same issue. I have a Dell Studio 1558 laptop and don't have this issue with Windows 7 Home Premium. I have an Intel 5 450M processor, 320 GB HDD, 6 GB memory. Right before it reboots to complete installation it shutdowns down instead of restarting. Then I turn the power on and installation completes successfully. Then I enter user name etc. and start windows. I click restart and the computer follows the usual motions and at the shutdown screen right when it normally would restart the trust circle freezes and in about 5-10 seconds the computer shuts down. I also do not have the sleep function available and when I close the lid and it should sleep it just goes to a black screen. Then I have to hard shutdown in order to restart windows. I have looked all over the internet and have not been able to find any topics anywhere to help me. Can someone please provide me with some direction in order to help me resolve this issue please?
