55 MP3s on a CD - 971 files scanned?

Hi,

a friend recently gave me a CD with 55 MP3's on it. Before I ran anything I scanned it and am a bit perplexed by the results - hope someone can help?

The scan stated that no threats were found, but that it scanned 971 items. While the scan was being done I could see that most MP3s appeared to be behaving like a container (I might not have explained that very well - it looked like it was scanning the contents of a file and finding files within it, rather like a zip file, 1 file with many files within it) and it identified these file as something along the lines of (3 numbers), eg .

I used online scanners and all of them came back as negative, but I still have not played any of these MP3s yet, as it still sounds suspicious to me?

Just to make things really odd, when I scanned the files one at a time, MSE returned a result of 1 file, no threat found. I tried it on all 55 together again, and it still says it scanned 971 files.

I suspect the files are ok, but if anyone could shed any light on what I am seeing, some reassurance that it is safe would help :)

Maybe someone has seen this behaviour before and already knows what it is? I tried Googling it, but without much success.

Many thanks for any assistance you can offer
