Well Hi to everyone, I post here since I really do not know what else Can I do

Have a Dell XPS M1530 4GB memory 500GB hard disk, 64 Bits Windows Vista Home Premium:

Have a problem booting to Windows it do not boot to windows, so I hit the F8 and I get the System repair and nothing happens, it said that is repairing it but can be like that for ever, so I turn it off and did it again and in system repair I use the command prompt and I can see all my folders so looks like everything is there.

I spoke to the tech guy from dell and He told me to do a system diagnosis I forget what key I press, so was many errors popping up from read-write the hard disk, the memory was fine , so they send me a new hard drive, I installed the new drive and everything is fine, but I want to get all my files back from the old one

I installed the old drive in a exterior enclosure with a USB and I only see a few folders, why is that?

Before when it was in the PC I can see all the folders,

Can I put back (install back) the old drive on the PC , with out messing things up?

So I can try to use the command prompt to copy the folders to a external hard disk? If the folders are still in there now?

I don’t want to loose all my files, and I need to send back the old drive to the company

Thanks

Tony
