ptglass Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 Problem Description: HP Computer - Vista 64 My Canon scanner stopped working after the latest updates (10) sent out on Wednesday of this week. I called Canon support and we reinstaled the latest drivers and programs. The Canon software (Toolbox) will not operate the scanner. However, I can scan using Win Paint or the Photo Gallery since it uses the Windows driver. The Scanner software was working fine just before these latest updates. Something seems to have affected the Canon driver or software.[/size] Quote
FPCH Admin AWS Posted December 17, 2010 FPCH Admin Posted December 17, 2010 Check your firewall settings. I believe one of the updates was for windows firewall and that one could have blocked the scanner. One other thing is to make sure the twain driver was installed with the rest of the drivers. Uninstalling and reinstalling should fix that. Quote Off Topic Forum - Unlike the Rest
ptglass Posted December 18, 2010 Author Posted December 18, 2010 Thanks for the reply. The Twain driver was downloaded from Canon and installed. The driver is working. The Firewall was checked and it does not appear to be blocking anything associated with the scanner. I read where the latest updates are affecting some USB devices and this is plugged into a USB port. Perhaps MS willl have a fix. Quote
