Posted October 5, 201014 yr Hello! I've been having a few issues with my computer which usually end up with the blue screen of death. I've run all sorts of diagnostic programs and the only consistent thing that keeps popping up is that "root\seehcricd" is an unknown device. Has anyone come across this before? Thanks.
October 5, 201014 yr FPCH Admin There is some software installed that created the device and now the software must not have been uninstalled correctly. Do you have any Cyberlink software installed? If you do uninstall it and the error and blue screens should end. Another Forum - Unlike the Rest

Is there a more detailed search I should do to look for it?
October 6, 201014 yr FPCH Admin Check for any arcade games you might have installed or any other games that allow you to connect to a server to play online. I would also do a complete scan for any malware. Although I can find nothing that indicates this is a malware problem it never hurts to check. Another Forum - Unlike the Rest

I had a look for all those, and run a scan but again I came up with nothing. The only thing I can think of that could be a cause is an old Sony Ericsson program I had to connect a mobile phone to the computer. I uninstalled this a few months ago but have noticed a few problems with my USB ports since - do you think this could have caused a problem with the registry?
