I just saw a folder on the C: drive root (C:\) named

'a3dc416c0d89388d46c1d20d' which has the following 'dir' listing:

===== dir listing starts ========

Volume in drive C is OS

Volume Serial Number is D444-41B8

Directory of C:\a3dc416c0d89388d46c1d20d

There are no results for 'dir /a:hsrda *.*'

The installation appears to have occurred two weeks ago.

I do not have updates set on 'automatic' but rather the 'download and let me

choose to install' option.

I probably did choose to install this, but I am wondering why it would have

installed on the root directory of the system drive.

Google searching of KB970158 does not produce a result on the Microsoft

site, but rather a whole bunch of people wondering what this update is, and

saying that Microsoft has no KB page for it. Many forum re-publishing sites

point to a Yahoo Answers site---about as reliably knowledgeable as getting

milk form a bull----saying it is related to Zune. I don't possess a Zune

product.

Anyone know what this is?
