Question: Is the ability to play the last few seconds of video important

- what a totally useless piece of (&(*&(

- There could be thousands of uses

- I'd archive video by placing a short summary of contents there

- my software doesn't have that capability

------------------------------------------------------------------------

The idea was to shoot video of each golfer from behind and across then

play these short videos back in slow motion and normal speed while they

were having their awards supper.

This was accomplished and the video was up and playing on a large screen

within 15 minutes of leaving the course. The only PROBLEM was that some

golf swings took far more time than others and when played back in slow

motion the audience would lose interest. As well in attempting to

capture only the "golf swing" we missed some completely.

The solution was a simple program change that allowed for ONLY the final

3 secs of the video (the swing) to be played in slow motion. This way we

could start recording right when the golfer addressed the ball and turn

off the recording on completion of the swing. From now on we won't miss

any more Swings.

Now each video plays followed by the finals 3 seconds in Slo-Mo.

The video clips from those 2 tournaments is being switched out daily.

Along with a demo of the slo-mo and other capabilities.

What other action sport could benefit from this technique?

Rodeo and their final 8 seconds.

Water Skiing wipe outs.

in slo-mo. HoopleHead is a strange name for a dog?

With video timeliness is important

When things are simple they are usually quick. It took a couple minutes to offload the video onto the laptop. Then mere seconds to catalogue them. The cataloging looks like this:

photo c:\search\golfvid001.mpg

xxx.c:\search\golfvideo001.mpg

photo start==-3000 speed=125 c:\search\golfvid001.mpg

xxx.c:\search\golfvideo001.mpg

photo c:\search\golfvid002.mpg

xxx.c:\search\golfvideo002.mpg

photo start==-3000 speed=125 c:\search\golfvid002.mpg

xxx.c:\search\golfvideo002.mpg

..

..

the -3000 indicates the start point is 3 seconds before the end of the video and the 125 is the speed where 1000 is full speed.

The auto catalogue used the path name in the search detail line as often the name of the file and folder are important.

Nobody can do golf video faster than this.

Never see the final 3 seconds of video

You can never stop recording soon enough sometimes. But don't worry about profanities ruining the immediate video playback. With the PD/C option the last 3 seconds of video will never get played.

The Profanity Delay / Censor option.

Reasons to use this cool Video feature:

If someone you don't like goes by. Stop recording.

If you might get sued. Stop recording.

If someone says something nasty or threatening to you. Stop recording.

If you are videoing a Wild Wild party be ready to. Stop recording

.

Sometime later you can examine those final few seconds to see which videos goes to the XXX folder.

Wouldn't it be great if YouTube offered this feature. Then we could quickly send our unedited video. As long as we stop recording quickly. Come on YouTube do it for the Swampies.

Just as with the "golf" enhancement whereby the "start==" element changing to negative "-3000" allows for playing the last 3 secs (the swing) in slo-mo. A similar change to the "wait=-3" will play all but the final 3 seconds of a video. When they are acting bad cut 'em off.

Catalog the video using "gf" and then change the resultant .txt file replacing every "photo " with "photo wait=-3 " So within minutes of offloading the video it's ready to play. Never see them last 3 seconds EVER.
