I didn't 'dump' it, it was in my reply. I didn't address it.

I could see how if you have a *second physical HD* and use it

for data only, that it may not get corrupted like a system

drive would.

The data only drive would be accessed orders of magnitude less

than a system drive would be, and the access it did have would

be far more contiguous than a system drive jumping all over

everywhere. In theory it could have substantially less

problems.

year ago. It came with 4 gigs of RAM and a 250 gig 5,400 spin speed HDD.

It was loaded with Windows Home Premium. I bought a new 320 gig 7,200

spin speed HDD and loaded Windows 7 X64 Ultimate, so that I can dual

boot it.

All together, I've got less than $650USD's in it.

Today, Fry's of San Diego has a couple of laptops, all with 4 gigs of RAM.

The only 1 gig RAM is a netbook.

You got screwed...or better yet, and more likely, you screwed yourself.

I don't own a machine with one gig of RAM and haven't in years. You are

replying to what Death wrote, not me, moron. Both of the laptops have 4

gigs of RAM and 7200 rpm hard drives. As I don't need Pro or Ultimate

(and you probably don't either except for what you think are bragging

rights or some such silliness) so I didn't have to waste my money

upgrading Home Premium.
