C:/E: Safely remove harw.? can't get rid

I have been updating a person comp. yesterday when I did the

 

last few updates. The Safely remove Hadw. comes up in the

 

task bar, saying it is safe to remove the device(s)

 

which are the c & D drives?

 

I can not seem to get rid of it, but hide it.
